    About the Organisers

    Margins to Access Project (MAP): A legal aid centre dedicated to facilitating access to justice through systemic and sustainable reforms, working at the intersection of migration, gender, and justice from grassroots to highest institutions.

    The Justice Definitions Project by Judicial Data Collaborative: Launched in August 2023 by DAKSH, this volunteer-led initiative builds a free, open-access platform, Justice Definitions Wiki, providing comprehensive, credible information on legal and justice terminology with over 1.2 million views.

    About the Program

    • Thematic Area: Gender Law

    • Nature of Participation: Team-based with teams of two (1 law student + 1 allied social science student), formed by organisers.

    • Mode: 100% virtual and remote; drafting on Justice Definitions Wiki, coordination via email and WhatsApp.

    • Target Output: Collaborative curation and publishing of 10 research drafts on Gender Law by 20 students (one draft per team).

    • Time Commitment: Approximately 7 hours per week for research and drafting.

    • Scope: Legal content curation and public hosting on the Justice Definitions Wiki.

    • Mentors: Lawyers from the Gender Equality and Empowerment Team at Margins to Access Project (MAP).

    Eligibility

    • Open to students currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programs in India.

    • Eligible backgrounds: Law degrees (BA LLB, LLB, LLM, B. Com LLB) and allied social sciences (Sociology, Gender Studies, Political Science, Humanities, Public Policy, etc.).

    Duration

    Important Dates

    • Application Closing: August 15, 2026

    • Selection Intimation: August 18, 2026

    • Mandatory Onboarding Session: August 21, 2026

    • Program Completion & Certificate Issuance: October 23-26, 2026
