About the Opportunity
Join one of India’s leading IP law firms and build a rewarding career in IP. K&S Partners’ Trademark Team is looking to hire a Senior Associate with 5-7 years of experience for their Mumbai office.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Advise on filing strategies, clearance searches, registrability, and risk assessment.
- Prepare and review trademark availability opinions and legal advisories.
- Prosecute trademark applications before the Indian Trademarks Registry.
- Handle examination reports, hearings, and post-registration matters.
- Manage Madrid Protocol filings and international portfolio coordination.
- Advise on assignments, licenses, coexistence agreements, and recordals.
- Handle trademark oppositions, rectifications, cancellations, and related proceedings.
- Draft notices of opposition, counterstatements, evidence affidavits, and written submissions.
- Coordinate investigations, takedowns, cease-and-desist actions, and settlement negotiations.
- Maintain liaison with Registry officials for procedural follow-ups.
- Managing client trademark portfolios and liaising with clients as needed on their matters.
Eligibility Criteria
- Law degree (LLB), from a recognized institution, with a specialization or keen interest in intellectual property law.
- Good command of written and spoken English; strong legal drafting skills.
- Ability to think independently and prepare legal drafts for all the work related to the above listed responsibilities.
- Communicative with team members and has the ability to work collaboratively.
- Detail-oriented; able to handle deadlines, multiple assignments, and communication with clients and team members.
- Team-oriented approach with professional client handling skills.
