The Centre for Studies in Tribal and Indigenous Communities (CSTIC) at DNLU, Jabalpur, promotes interdisciplinary research on tribal and indigenous communities, focusing on legal, constitutional, social, and policy issues affecting these communities.

About the Conference

The Centre for Studies in Tribal and Indigenous Communities (CSTIC), DNLU, Jabalpur, in collaboration with the Tribal Research and Development Institute (TRDI), Bhopal, is organizing a Two-Day National Conference on the theme:

“Tribal Custom, Law, Rights, and Reforms.”

The conference aims to bring together academicians, researchers, scholars, practitioners, and students to deliberate on issues relating to tribal customs, indigenous rights, legal reforms, forest rights, PESA, intellectual property, and other contemporary issues concerning tribal communities.

Eligibility

The conference invites submissions from:

  • Academicians
  • Researchers
  • Research Scholars
  • Law Students and Students from allied disciplines
  • Legal Practitioners and Professionals

Themes

Submissions are invited on themes including, but not limited to:

  • Tribal Customary Laws
  • Indigenous Rights
  • Constitutional and Legal Reforms
  • Forest Rights
  • Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act (PESA)
  • Intellectual Property Rights and Traditional Knowledge
  • Other issues relating to tribal and indigenous communities

Important Dates

  • Last Date for Abstract Submission: July 15, 2026
  • Communication of Acceptance: July 18, 2026
  • Last Date for Registration: July 20, 2026
  • Last Date for Full Paper Submission: August 17, 2026
  • Conference Dates: September 19–20, 2026

Registration Fee

  • Students: ₹500
  • Research Scholars: ₹700
  • Academicians: ₹1,000

Co-authors are required to pay 50% of the applicable registration fee.

Publication Opportunity

Selected papers will be published in a special issue of The Vantage: A Journal of Law and Social Sciences.

Accommodation

Accommodation will be provided to selected paper presenters.
