Kamkus College of Law was established in 2007 with a vision to impart quality legal education. It is a premier educational institution managed by Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan, a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860,The institution is affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, and the courses offered are approved by the Bar Council of India.
About the Conference
A ONE DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR on Ancient Indian Jurisprudence and the Modern Judicial System aims to bring together legal scholars, practitioners, researchers, and students to discuss and deliberate upon the critical themes surrounding Ancient Indian Jurisprudence and the Modern Judicial System “The Relevance of Sanskrit Literature in the Contemporary Perspective”.
Themes & Sub-themes
Primary Theme: Ancient Indian Jurisprudence and the Modern Judicial System “The Relevance of Sanskrit Literature in the Contemporary Perspective”
Sub-themes include (but are not limited to):
- Rajdharma and Modern Administrative Law (Kautilya’s Arthashastra and the Principles of Good Governance)
- Ancient Methods of Dispute Resolution (ADR) (The origin of Arbitration, Conciliation, and the ‘Panchayat’ system in Sanskrit texts)
- Law of Contracts & Civil Law (References to Debt, Transfer of Property, and Commercial Rules in the ancient Yajnavalkya and Narada Smriti)
- Environmental Protection and Law (Environmental Justice in Vedic and Puranic Sanskrit Literature and its relevance to today’s laws)
- Jurisprudence and Rules of Interpretation (The applicability of Mimamsa Rules of Interpretation in interpreting modern laws)
Eligibility
Law students, academicians, judges, legal practitioners, Sanskrit scholars, and researchers are eligible to participate and submit abstracts.
Submission Guidelines
Word Limit:
- Abstract: 300-400 words
- Full Paper: 1500–2500 words
- Formatting: e.g., Times New Roman, Font Size 12, 1.5 Line Spacing, Footnotes in Bluebook 20th Edition
Co-authorship: Allowed up to 4 co-authors.

- Confirmation of Abstract Acceptance: 25 August 2026
- Full Paper Submission Deadline: 5 September 2026
