Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd on Saturday said its board has appointed Rakesh Magotra as the bank’s Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and Group Compliance Officer (GCO) for a term of three years, with effect from July 4, 2026.
“The Board of Directors of the Bank have in their meeting held today i.e. July 04, 2026 appointed Mr. Rakesh Magotra as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)/Group Compliance Officer (GCO) of the Bank for a period of three (3) years in place of Mr. Peer Masood Ahmad,” Jammu and Kashmir Bank said in its exchange filing.
The appointment comes in place of Peer Masood Ahmad, who has ceased to hold the position, the lender said in a regulatory filing.
Magotra is a career banker with over three decades of experience across retail banking, credit, operations, governance and business transformation.
An alumnus of NIT Jaipur and IIM Amritsar, Magotra is currently pursuing a PhD in economics at IIM Jammu. Since joining the bank as a probationary officer in 1996, he has held several key leadership roles, including zonal head for the Delhi zone, advisor to the chairman, and head of financial inclusion and supervision & control.
Since joining J&K Bank as a Probationary Officer in 1996, Shri Magotra has held several key leadership positions, including Zonal Head, Delhi Zone, Advisor to the Chairman, Head of Financial Inclusion and Head of Supervision & Control. He has led several strategic initiatives in MSME financing, financial inclusion, startup financing and institutional partnerships, and is a regular speaker at industry and academic forums on banking and governance.
