First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, and First Impression
My first day was really awkward. Everyone from the staff seemed busy with their own work, and no one took me seriously. To be honest, I even considered leaving the internship that day because it was one of the worst first-day experiences I have ever had.
Main Tasks
During the interview, I was told that my main tasks would be drafting mortgage documents, preparing vetting reports, and other computer-related work. But in reality, he used me like a porter, just delivering documents from one place to another, and that was all.
Although the stipend was paid, I feel that if I had actually worked as a porter, I would have earned more than ₹20,000. I had to watch others work on their PCs to learn, but without getting the opportunity to do the work myself, I learned very little.
Work Environment
The work environment was good, but what was the point of a good environment when my only responsibility was delivering documents? I gained no legal knowledge or practical learning during the internship.
Good Things about the Internship
The only good thing was that the colleagues working there guided me on what I was supposed to do.
Bad Things about the Internship
It was the worst experience I have ever had. The only work I remember doing was delivering documents. There was no learning related to law. None at all.
Monthly Stipend
The stipend was Rs. 4k.
Details about the accommodation, commuting to the office
No accommodation or other facilities were provided. The only refreshment offered was tea twice a day. Moreover, working in the intense summer heat made the experience even more exhausting and fatiguing.
Anything else you want to share?
I ended up wasting both my time and money on travel. In the scorching 45°C heat, I had to travel around the city just to deliver documents.
