How did you apply?
I came across this opportunity through my connection.
First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, and First Impression
On my first day at Kachwaha & Partners, I was warmly welcomed by the HR team and the internship coordinator, who guided me through the necessary onboarding formalities. These included signing confidentiality agreements and receiving an overview of the firm’s culture, policies, and expectations.
I was also introduced to the office layout, provided with my internship kit, and assigned my workstation. The firm’s infrastructure was impressive, featuring modern facilities, a well-stocked library, and state-of-the-art meeting rooms.
My first impression was extremely positive; everyone was professional yet approachable, and the work environment was clearly designed to foster productivity, learning, and collaboration.
Main Tasks
As the firm specializes in arbitration, my primary responsibilities during the internship involved conducting extensive legal research in this area. I examined case laws, statutory provisions, and judicial precedents to support ongoing arbitration matters.
I analyzed arbitral awards and court decisions, identified key legal principles, and applied them to the cases being handled by the firm. I also prepared case briefs, legal summaries, and detailed research reports on arbitration-related issues, which contributed to the development of legal strategies.
Additionally, I assisted in the preparation for arbitration hearings by organizing case documents, compiling relevant authorities, and supporting the formulation of legal arguments.
Work Environment
The work environment at Kachwaha & Partners was both professional and supportive. Interns were provided with a dedicated workspace, offering a quiet and comfortable environment for focused work and collaboration with fellow interns.
The office atmosphere was highly conducive to learning, with easy access to senior associates and partners who were approachable and willing to provide guidance.
Regular interactions with the legal team enabled me to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, making the internship a highly enriching and valuable learning experience.
Good Things about the Internship
One of the most rewarding aspects of the internship was the firm’s thoughtful approach to the well-being of its interns. Located in the Shanti Niketan area of New Delhi, the office provided a comfortable and well-equipped workspace.
The firm also catered to our daily needs by providing lunch and refreshments, allowing us to focus entirely on our work without having to worry about meals. The supportive work environment, coupled with the opportunity to learn from experienced legal professionals, made the internship both enriching and professionally rewarding.
Bad Things about the Internship
There were no negative aspects of the internship that stood out to me.
Monthly Stipend
A performance-based stipend was provided.
Details about the accommodation, commuting to the office
I stayed in a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Satya Niketan, New Delhi, located approximately 1.5 kilometers from the office. The convenient location made daily commuting easy, with metro and cab services readily available.
The area offers a wide range of PG accommodations for both boys and girls, making it easier to find suitable housing options. This accessibility contributed to a smooth, manageable, and stress-free daily routine throughout my internship.
