1. The petitioner before us was put to
trial along with other co-accused in the
Court of II Additional District Judge (CBI
Cases), Coimbatore for the offence punishable
under Sections 420, 467, 471, 468 and 120-B
of the Indian Penal Code (for short, “the
IPC”) and Sections 13(1)(d) read with 13(2)
of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988
(for short, “the Act, 1988”), respectively.
2. The Trial Court held the petitioner
guilty of the alleged offences and sentenced
him to undergo four years of rigorous
imprisonment with fine.
