CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The National Law University Delhi invites expressions of interest for the contractual position of a full-time IPR Chair Professor under the DPIIT IPR Chair established by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. This position is part of the Scheme for Pedagogy and Research in IPRs for Holistic Education and Academia (SPRIHA).
The selected Chair Professor will also assume additional responsibilities as the Director of the Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition (CIIPC) and serve as the Programme Director for the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law and Management Programme.
Overview:
A. Intellectual Property Rights Chair, NLU Delhi
The IPR Chair Professor will promote teaching, research, and capacity-building in Intellectual Property (IP) at the University. The Chair Professor will develop and strengthen IP curricula, foster high-quality research, and contribute to building an IP knowledge base.
The Chair Professor will facilitate collaborations with academic institutions, industry, and stakeholders, support policy-oriented research, undertake outreach activities, mentor students, and publish regularly.
B. Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition (CIIPC)
Established in 2015, CIIPC promotes academic and policy-oriented research at the intersection of innovation, intellectual property, and competition. It undertakes research on contemporary and emerging IP issues across sectors.
The Centre also organises academic events, moot courts, and outreach programmes to foster engagement among stakeholders.
C. WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint LL.M. Programme
The Programme Director will shape the strategic direction and ensure academic quality and smooth functioning of the programme.
This is a full-time contractual position at the campus of National Law University Delhi, Dwarka.
Position Details
Eligibility:
- Must meet eligibility criteria for Professor/Associate Professor as prescribed by UGC with relevant teaching/research experience in IPR; OR
- An IP Attorney with at least 10 years of practice, or a recognized professional in IPR; OR
- A retired official from the IP Office (CGPDTM) with a doctorate and minimum 5 years’ experience at Level 12 or above.
- Candidates above 70 years are not eligible.
Remuneration:
- Rs. 1,50,000/- per month (consolidated)

- Initial appointment is for one year, extendable based on performance and funding.

Selection Process
