We are delighted to announce that Rabia Wali from the Batch of 2029 was adjudged First Runner-Up at the Paper Presentation Competition of the National Law Institute University–India Foundation Constitutional Law Symposium 2026, held at National Law Institute University, Bhopal, after a highly competitive final round that witnessed rigorous academic presentations, sharp legal reasoning, and impressive scholarship from participants across India. Only 20 shortlisted papers were selected for presentation at this reputed competition.
The Paper Presentation Competition was adjudicated by a distinguished panel comprising Abiha Zaidi, Dr. Debashri Sarkar, and Mr. Pavan Chaurasia, whose incisive questions tested the depth and originality of each presenter’s research and understanding of their respective topics.
Rabia’s paper, titled “A Time-Bound Approach to the Powers of the Speaker of the Legislature: The Need of the Hour in the Digital Age”, examined constitutional concerns arising from delays in deciding disqualification petitions under the Tenth Schedule and proposed a time-bound, technology-integrated framework to strengthen transparency, accountability, and democratic stability in anti-defection adjudication.
Her paper is also among the top 8 contenders for publication in the ISBN-bearing edited volume by NLIU Manthan, out of the 20 papers selected for the presentation rounds held at NLIU Bhopal on 4 April 2026.
National Law University Delhi congratulates Rabia Wali for bringing laurels to the University.
