The Vengadamangalam Village located in South Chennai is a peri-urban region blessed with lakes and ponds and limited green spaces. With the rapid expansion of the city, the village began to see a rise in population and an increase in residential complexes, shifting and neglecting the focus from the natural landscapes in the neighborhood. In an effort to revive the green cover, E.F.I along with Hexaware and the Chengalpattu District Administration took on the task of establishing an urban forest in the Vengadamangalam Village called Vengai Vanam.
