The UGC has introduced the NEP SAARTHI program to encourage students to actively participate in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This initiative aims to create an environment where students can engage with the community and drive reforms in higher education.
To promote student involvement and awareness of educational reforms, the UGC launched the NEP SAARTHI initiative. The initiative seeks individuals with outstanding personalities, excellent communication skills, organizational capabilities, creativity, a sense of responsibility, and leadership qualities to conduct outreach programs.
After receiving nominations from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), the UGC has announced the names of the selected candidates.
According to the university body, participation in this initiative will not only be personally enriching but also play a significant role in shaping the future of higher education in India.
Objectives:
- Raise awareness and promote the initiatives of NEP 2020 among students on campus
- Encourage and motivate students to actively participate in implementing the NEP 2020 initiatives
- Establish a feedback mechanism for the UGC to understand the impact of NEP 2020 initiatives on students and address their concerns

Organize events, workshops, and seminars to educate students about the key aspects of NEP 2020
- Collaborate with HEIs, government bodies, and other stakeholders to drive reforms in higher education
- Monitor the progress of NEP 2020 implementation at the grassroots level and provide recommendations for improvement
- Serve as a bridge between students and policymakers to ensure that student voices are heard in the decision-making process
- Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and critical thinking among students to align with the goals of NEP 2020
- Empower students to become change agents in their communities and contribute to the transformation of the education system in India.
