Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a convincing nine-wicket win against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 fixture at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday.

RCB got DC down to 8/6 within the powerplay, unleashing an absolute carnage with the new ball as Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar shared seven dismissals between them.

Bhuvneshwar struck with the second ball, yorking debutant Sahil Parakh. Hazlewood then removed KL Rahul (1) and Sameer Rizvi (0) in successive deliveries.

Bhuvneshwar returned to dismiss Tristan Stubbs (5), while skipper Axar Patel fell for nought. Delhi slumped to 8 for 5 and then 9 for 6, effectively ending the contest before it had begun. They managed only one boundary in the Powerplay and crawled to 13 for 6. Hazlewood wrapped up the innings by bowling Porel.

Chasing a token target, Virat Kohli (23) and Jacob Bethell (20) gave RCB a brisk start. Bethell fell to a sharp catch by T Natarajan off Jamieson, but Devdutt Padikkal struck a fluent 34 to finish the chase alongside Kohli.

Kohli sealed victory with consecutive sixes, completing a ruthless RCB win and exposing the extreme volatility of T20 cricket just days after Delhi had posted 264 against Punjab Kings.
