    01. By this petition, the petitioners herein, have challenged the agreement of

    SPONSORED

    compromise, which was arrived at between the parties in the writ

    petition No. 823 of 1986, being not in consonance and violative of the

    mandatory overriding provisions of the Agrarian Reforms Act, 1976.

    02. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the

    petitioners herein were not party to the writ petition No. 823 of 1986

    which was decided by this Court on 01.03.1991, upon recording the

    statements of the parties before the Deputy Registrar of this Court.

    03. Learned counsel for the respondents has raised a preliminary objection

    with respect to the maintainability of this petition with respect to

    prayer(i) thereof.

    04. Learned counsel for the petitioners seeks and is granted two weeks’ time

    to assist this Court with respect to the maintainability of the instant

    petition.

    05. List on 14.05.2026.

    06. Registry is directed to tag the record of OWP No. 823/1986 along with

    the instant petition.
