    (2) Petitioner applied for issuance of
    passport. Regional Passport Officer, upon
    receiving an adverse police report that
    petitioner has been convicted of offences
    punishable under Section 395, 397, 342
    and 412 IPC, issued notice to petitioner.
    Petitioner gave reply to the notice, however
    final decision has not been taken by the
    Regional Passport Officer.

    (3) Having regard to the facts of the
    case, writ petition is disposed of with a
    direction to Regional Passport Officer to
    take decision on petitioner’s application for
    issuance of passport, as per law, within two
    weeks from the date of presentation of
    certified copy of this order.
