About the Seminar

The seminar on ‘Motherhood and Child Well-being of Imprisoned Women in Delhi Jails’ critically examines the socio-legal challenges faced by incarcerated mothers and their children.

The seminar is sponsored by Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in collaboration with Saraswati Institute of Law, Palwal, Haryana.

It highlights the disruption of caregiving structures, emotional bonds, and child development, while addressing gaps in prison laws and welfare mechanisms. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, the seminar aims to generate evidence-based reforms rooted in dignity, care, and constitutional values.

Registration Details

  • This National Seminar is sponsored by ICSSR.
  • NO REGISTRATION FEE will be charged from Participants.
  • Participants can register through the given link at the end of the post and join the WhatsApp group for further communication.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract (300-500 words).
  • Abstract should include objectives, methodology, data sources and keywords.
  • Submissions must be original and unpublished.
  • Abstract should be typed in MS Word using Times New Roman font, 12-point size and 1.5-line spacing.
  • Abstracts are to be submitted with the registration form.
  • Each paper should have a cover page containing the title of the paper, name of the author, Institution, name, email id and phone number.
  • Full paper has to be submitted by the Google Form.

Publication Opportunity

Full papers presented at the seminar will be considered for publication in reputed national and international journals, subject to their policies and standards.

Certificate & Participation Policy

  • Certificates of Presentation will be issued only upon successful presentation in the assigned technical session.
  • In case of co-authorship, at least one author must register and present the paper.
  • Physical presence of the presenter is mandatory.
  • Failure to present will result in no certificate issuance.
  • A Best Presenter Award will be conferred for outstanding presentations.

Accommodation Details

  • No TA/DA will be provided.
  • Participants must arrange their own travel and accommodation.
  • Limited accommodation may be facilitated for outstation participants upon prior request, with expenses borne by the participant.
