About the Seminar
The Faculty of Legal Studies, Motherhood University, Roorkee, is organising a One-Day National Seminar — Rashtriya Vidhik Chaupal 1.0.
It brings together legal scholars, Indian Knowledge System (IKS) researchers, policymakers, and students to rigorously examine the intersections of ancient Indian legal wisdom with contemporary jurisprudence, constitutional law, and policy.
Anchored in the spirit of “Aa no bhadraah kratavo yantu vishwatah” — “Let noble thoughts come from all directions” — the seminar seeks to generate serious academic dialogue on the role of India’s civilisational heritage in shaping modern law, governance, and rights frameworks.
The event is particularly timely in the context of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’s mandate to integrate Indian Knowledge Systems across all disciplines, including law.
