Milbank LLP Litigation & Arbitration partner Gurbir S. Grewal has been appointed to the board of the Eastern District Association, a not-for-profit organization of former and current prosecutors and investigators from the Eastern District US Attorney’s Office. The association promotes educational, charitable and social events for its members and the legal community.
Mr. Grewal brings a unique blend of government experience to his representation of clients, having served as a federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York, Attorney General of New Jersey, and most recently, the Director of Enforcement at the SEC. As a government prosecutor, he led several high-profile securities fraud cases, including the largest known computer hacking and insider trading scheme—resulting in over $30 million in illicit profits—and the first federal prosecution involving market manipulation through high-frequency trading “layering” strategies.
