These writ petitions have been filed by the respective
petitioners, pointing out that they were holding various
properties in Kannambra Village, Vadakkancherry Taluk and the
petitioners state that the 5th respondent – State issued Ext.P1
notification dated 09.12.2019 under the provisions of Section
11(1) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in
Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (for
short ‘the Act, 2013’), notified the lands mentioned therein as
proportionally acquired for the public purpose of setting up of
the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ). This
is followed by Ext.P2 declaration, also with reference to the
provisions of the Act. Subsequently, the District Collector called
for a meeting of all concerned and a decision was arrived at, as
per which, the petitioners in these writ petitions agreed to sell
their properties for the construction of Kochi – Bangalore
Industrial Corridor at the value mentioned in the sale deeds.
