About the Internship
Societe Generale is hiring a Legal Trainee/Intern to support the Legal function of the bank in handling corporate legal matters, banking regulations, legal documentation, and compliance-related work.

Eligibility
Mandatory Requirements
Candidates applying for the role should have:
- LL.B. degree (3-year or 5-year course) from a recognised Indian university
- Strong academic foundation in:
- Contract Law
- Company Law
- Banking Law
- Commercial Laws
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
Preferred Requirements
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Prior internship experience with:
- Banks
- Financial institutions
- Law firms with BFSI practice
- Familiarity with:
- RBI regulations
- Banking Regulation Act, 1949
Skills Required
- Strong legal research skills
- Good drafting and documentation abilities
- Attention to detail
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
Responsibilities
Regulatory & Banking Law Support
- Conducting research on:
- Indian banking laws
- RBI guidelines
- Companies Act provisions applicable to foreign banks and branches in India
- Court judgments and regulatory developments
- Tracking and summarising legal and regulatory updates for internal tools and databases
- Assisting in preparation of:
- Internal legal notes
- Compliance guidance
- Regulatory impact assessments
Contracts and Documentation
- Drafting and reviewing:
- Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
- Vendor contracts
- Preparing and updating databases and records, including:
- Checklists
- Legal opinions
- Invoices
