About the High Court of Gujarat
The High Court of Gujarat is the primary judicial authority for the state of Gujarat, with jurisdiction over all its district and administrative courts. Established on May 1, 1960, under the Bombay Re-organisation Act, it is headquartered in a sprawling complex on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway in Sola, Ahmedabad.
About the Opportunity
The High Court of Gujarat has announced recruitment for 65 Legal Assistant positions on a contractual basis. Fresh law graduates and final-year law students meeting the eligibility criteria are invited to apply online.

Eligibility
Candidates must:
- Be not more than 26 years of age as on July 20, 2026.
- Be a fresh law graduate with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA) from a recognized university.
- Have basic knowledge of computer applications/operations.
- Have knowledge of the Gujarati language.
Note: Final-year students of the 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. course may also apply, provided they obtain at least 55% marks before appointment.
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected Legal Assistants will:
- Assist the Hon’ble Judge in judicial and administrative work.
- Conduct legal research on assigned matters.
- Attend court proceedings and prepare notes.
- Draft memoranda, opinions, comments, and legal briefs.
- Perform other duties assigned by the High Court.
Tenure
The appointment will be purely contractual for 11 months, extendable by a further period of up to 11 months, subject to approval.
Salary
Selected candidates will receive a fixed remuneration of ₹60,000 per month.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- Written Test (Objective Type – MCQs) – 100 Marks
- Viva-Voce (Oral Interview) – 50 Marks
The final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in both stages.
