About the Internship
The Research Internship for the Monsoon Session 2026 is designed for recent post-graduates or students currently pursuing postgraduate studies who possess strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, along with an understanding of India’s political and governance systems.
The selected intern will assist in preparing research documents, policy briefs, analysing legislative developments, and supporting parliamentary work.
Eligibility
Candidates applying for the internship should:
- Be pursuing or have completed a Master’s degree in:
- Political Science
- Public Policy
- International Relations
- Law
- Economics
- Finance
- Journalism
- Related fields
- Demonstrate a strong interest in public policy, Indian politics, and governance.
- Possess excellent writing skills in both English and Hindi.
- Be proficient in MS Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Be capable of working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced political environment.
- Have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Be self-driven, organised, and capable of working in teams.
- Be able to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Have access to a personal laptop for work.
Responsibilities
The selected intern will be responsible for:
- Conducting research and analysis on parliamentary proceedings, legislative bills, parliamentary questions, and issues of national and regional importance.
- Drafting research documents, policy briefs, speech pointers, and background notes.
- Monitoring daily news cycles, ministry updates, and government releases relevant to assigned subjects.
- Supporting data compilation, fact-checking, and synthesis of complex information into concise briefs.
- Maintaining trackers related to parliamentary developments, political trends, and media narratives.
Preferred Experience
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Prior experience with academic institutions, think tanks, government bodies, or research organisations, including internships.
- Knowledge of parliamentary rules and procedures.
