About JGND PSOU
The Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala, was established by the State Legislature Act No. 19 of 2019 as the first Open University in the State of Punjab. The University is recognised by UGC DEB (Distance Education Bureau), approved under section 2(f) of UGC and has been accorded 12B status .
The University provides new opportunities for education and employment seekers, enabling them to acquire both formal qualifications and skills through Open and Distance Learning (ODL). University admits students in two cycles: January and July.
JGND PSOU has seven schools: School of Sciences and Emerging Technologies, School of Business Management and Commerce, School of Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, School of Languages, School of Law and Interdisciplinary Studies, School of Religious Studies, and School of Education and Vocation.
