3. The appellant is an accused in FIR No.0106
dated 07.06.2021 registered for the offences
punishable under Sections 406 and 420 of the
Indian Penal Code, 1860 (“IPC”) and subsequently,
Sections 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC came
to be added.
4. The complainant – respondent No.2 alleged
that appellant alongwith others pretending to be
the agents of PNB MetLife Insurance sold her a
fake insurance policy purportedly worth for Rs.
12,40,000/- with a forged receipt showing
verification, she discovered that the accused
persons were neither the employees nor the agents
of the Insurance Company and as such she sought
for action being taken against the accused
persons by filing a complaint. On the basis of
said complaint, the aforementioned FIR came to be
registered and the application for anticipatory
bail filed by the appellant before the trial
court and the High Court came to be dismissed.
Hence, this appeal.
