Gujarat has 1,200 PCOs left: LS data

Ahmedabad: Data in Lok Sabha (LS) indicated that Gujarat has 1,200 public call offices (PCOs) functional as of June 30, 2024. Out of the total, 1,174 were in urban areas and 26 in rural areas. In fact, Gujarat is among five states with more than 1,000 PCOs functional. In all, India has 15,439 PCOs in urban areas and 1,519 in rural areas. Gujarat is among the states with more than one smart/feature phone per capita, according to several surveys.
