About SPIL, Mumbai
Students for the Promotion of International Law (SPIL), Mumbai, is a student-run academic body at Government Law College, Mumbai, dedicated to promoting awareness and discussion on contemporary issues in international law.
SPIL regularly organises lectures, webinars, workshops, competitions, and its flagship GLC International Law Summit, bringing together scholars, jurists, diplomats, practitioners, and students from India and abroad.
About Government Law College, Mumbai
Established in 1855, Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai, is the oldest law school in Asia and one of India’s premier legal education institutions. Affiliated with the University of Mumbai, the college has produced several eminent jurists, advocates, judges, public intellectuals, and freedom fighters.
Eligibility
Submissions are open to:
- Undergraduate students
- Postgraduate students
- Research scholars
- Academicians
- Industry practitioners
Submission Categories
- Long Articles: 6,000–10,000 words (excluding footnotes and bibliography)
- Short Articles/Essays: 4,000–6,000 words (excluding footnotes and bibliography)
- Case Comments/Legislative Notes: 2,000–3,000 words (excluding footnotes and bibliography)
- Treaty and Instrument Analyses: 2,000–3,000 words (excluding footnotes and bibliography)
- Book Reviews: 2,000–3,000 words (excluding footnotes and bibliography)
Submission Guidelines
- Co-authorship of up to two authors is permitted.
- Every submission must be accompanied by an abstract of up to 300 words.
- Manuscripts must be written in English using British spelling conventions (Oxford English Dictionary).
- The permissible plagiarism limit is 10%. Submissions exceeding this limit will be disqualified.

Interested participants can submit their entries through the registration form given at the end of the post.
Important Dates
- Submission Deadline: September 16, 2026 (11:59 PM IST)
- Notification of Acceptance: First week of October 2026
- Publication: November 2026
