About the Seminar

Marital rape remains a complex, under-discussed, and socially sensitive issue in India and globally. It intersects with human dignity, bodily autonomy, gender equality, fundamental rights, and criminal justice.

Despite its severity, marital rape is often normalized due to social, cultural, and patriarchal norms. This seminar will explore marital rape as a critical legal and constitutional concern and examine how law, policy, and social awareness can ensure justice and protect survivors.
