CRIIIO 4 GOOD: An Online Skill Development Module
ICC, BCCI, UNICEF, and the Ministry of Education and Skill Development have launched the CRIIIO 4 GOOD initiative to enhance skills and promote gender equality through online programs. The program was established to support young people and encourage them to engage in sports. Through different modules, the program was launched with a motive to spread awareness and empower girl children.
CRIIIO 4 GOOD Initiative is a skill development program to promote gender equality among young girls and boys. The program was launched in association with UNICEF and the (BCCI) the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Mr. Dharendra Pradhan, Minister of Education and Skill Development, announced at the Narendra Modi Stadium that, “Empowerment of women, especially young girls have been the fundamental principles of NEP 2020 under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi ji. Glad that through #Criiio4Good, the power of sports and popularity of cricket is being used as a medium to empower the girl child and spread awareness about gender equity.”
BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah said, “The Cricket World Cup is set to inspire the children of India over the course of the next two months and this initiative is a landmark step towards empowering the youth of our nation. CRYO 4 GOOD not only promotes the values of cricket but also imparts crucial life skills, including the significance of gender equity. It’s a significant stride towards building a more equitable and enlightened future for our children.”
The program includes eight animated cricket movies that aim to promote gender equality, empower girls with essential life skills, and encourage them to participate in sports. These films use the popularity of cricket among young audiences to enhance skills and promote equality. The program will be accessible on criiio.com/criiio4good in English, Hindi, and Gujarati.
As part of the initiative, animated films demonstrate various life skills, including problem-solving, leadership, decision-making, negotiation, confidence, teamwork, empathy, and goal-setting. The skills-developing program will also be further depicted using cricketing examples and state-of-the-art animation. Careful research ensures that the films are relatable to domestic nuances.
An equal opportunity for young girls and boys will not only have an impact on individual growth but also impact the entire nation. This initiative will help millions of young people reach their full potential as it will give them a right to equal opportunity. “…The ICC World Cup provides a brilliant opportunity to reach out to millions with the message that each one of us must be a champion for girls and promote equal rights for all children.”
After the most awaited Nari Shakti Adhiniyam Bill, a remarkable history has been created to make India women-led development.
