(for ICSSR-funded research project titled– “Smart Cities, Silent Citizens: The Impact of ‘Digital-by-Default’ Governance on the Autonomy and Well-being of Oldest Old Persons”)
Background:
National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi), established in the year 2008 with the initiative of the High Court of Delhi and the Govt. of NCT of Delhi, is a premier Law University in the country. Dynamic in vision and robust in commitment, the University, in a very short span of time, has shown exemplary promise to become a world-class institution. NLU Delhi has been consecutively ranked number two in the NIRF rankings of Law Universities in the country for the last seven years. The University is offering a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme, LL.M. (Regular), Joint Masters/LL.M. in IP Law and Management Programme, PGIP, Ph.D., and several diploma programmes.
The project is fully funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and focuses on the intersection of aging, smart cities, and law.
Responsibilities:
The Research Associate will be expected to:
- Assist in research, review, and analysis of statutes, policies, guidelines, regulatory frameworks, and other available literature on the core and allied areas of the Project.
- Conduct doctrinal, empirical, and comparative research (including literature review, case/document analysis, and data-driven inquiries).
- Support the drafting of research outputs, including reports, briefs, research papers, and internal working papers.
- Coordinate with project investigators and external consultants where required.
Eligibility:
- M. with specialisation in Constitutional Law from a recognised Indian or foreign university with minimum 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever a grading system is followed), and a good academic record.
- NET/ M.Phil./ Ph.D. and at least 2 years of research experience.
- Demonstrable research track record in Constitutional Law, SDGs, Gerontology, Smart Cities, Digital Public Infrastructure, and other allied areas/themes.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, ability to assist in literature review, instrument development, data collection, data analysis, and report writing.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and Data analysis tools.
- Prior experience in research projects.
- Proficiency in academic writing and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet timelines.
Position: One (1)
Emoluments: Remuneration will be ₹ 47,000/- per month (consolidated), as per ICSSR norms.
Nature of Appointment: Contractual for Six Months (further extendable subject to project requirements and performance).
