    INTRODUCTION: FROM GEOPOLITICS TO EFFICIENCY

For decades, the structure of the global supply chain has been founded on one legal and economic principle: economic efficiency through globalization. In a neutral, uninterrupted global market, transnational corporations distribute manufacturing across the globe to exploit comparative advantage. But this illusion has been shattered by the weaponization of international trade through export bans, discriminatory taxes and unilateral sanctions in recent times. Supply chains are now considered critical geopolitical assets.Under pressure from the West, the expanding BRICS bloc is painstakingly constructing a parallel and robust supply chain architecture, moving the global paradigm from mere efficiency to national sovereignty and geoeconomic resilience.
