… for the State in CRA (SB) 69/2026
& in CRA (SB) 85 of 2026
Learned advocates for the appellants respectively
submit that the appellants were through out on bail during
the trial and are in custody after the sentence was
pronounced by the learned trial court for about five months.
The subject-matter of the case relates to certain
police officers being injured at the behest of the present
appellants. However, there are subject-matters for
consideration relating to veracity of the evidence.
Learned advocate for the State respectively opposes
the prayer for bail.
Having considered that the appellants in CRA (SB) 64
of 2026; CRA (SB) 69 of 2026 and CRA (SB) 85 of 2026
faced trial while on bail and there is no material to suggest
3
that the appellants in all the cases referred to above
disrupted the trial as also the fact that the sentence is for a
fixed period of term, I am inclined to enlarge the appellants
in all the cases referred to above on bail.
Accordingly, the appellants shall be released on bail
upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/-(Rupees Twenty
Thousand only) each, with two sureties of Rs.10,000/-
(Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, one of whom must be
local, to the satisfaction of the Learned CJM, Chinsurah,
Hooghly.
If on bail, the appellants shall once in a month
appear before the learned CJM, Chinsurah, Hooghly and
obtain an acknowledgement. Such condition would continue
till further orders of this court.
With the aforesaid observations, CRAN 1 of 2026 in
CRA (SB) 64 of 2026; CRAN 1 of 2026 in CRA (SB) 69 of
2026 and CRAN 1 of 2026 in CRA (SB) 85 of 2026 is
disposed of.
Department is directed to expedite the preparation of
the paper book(s). The records of the case reflect that the
trial court records till date has not been received by the
department.
Accordingly, the learned Registrar (Judicial Service),
High Court, Calcutta is directed to ensure that the learned
4
trial court records are received promptly by the department
and paper book(s) are prepared expeditiously.
Let all the Appeals appear along with the paper
book(s) in the monthly list of December, 2026 under the
heading ‘To Be Mentioned’.
