    [1] Heard Mr. Th. Mahira, learned counsel appearing for the
    petitioners and Mrs. Ch. Sundari, learned GA appearing for the
    respondents.

    [2] The counsel for the petitioner submitted that the Executive
    Council of the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association consist of 30
    Office bearers, including 4 representatives of Youth Affairs and Sports
    Department, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Tourism Department and
    Animal Welfare Board of India as provided under Regulation 9 of the
    Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association. It has been submitted by

    the learned counsel that the last election of the members of the
    Executive Council was held in the year 2004 and the term of the
    Executive Council is only for two years. It has also been submitted by
    the learned counsel that after the said election was held in 2004, the
    term of the Office of the Executive Council has already been lapsed and
    thereafter, no election has been held.

    [3] The learned counsel further submitted that by a letter
    dated 14-02-2024 from the Deputy Registrar (Admn.), Registrar of
    Societies, Manipur, addressed to the Ex-President, Ex-Honorary
    Secretary General, Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association, it has
    been informed that the election process of the Executive Council of
    the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association should be done by
    convening a Special General Body Meeting as per the Manipur Societies
    Registration Act, 1989
    and the Regulations of the Manipur Horse Riding
    and Polo Association and that an Observer from the Department of
    Co-operation shall be requested for the said meeting/ election. It has
    also been submitted that despite such direction from the Deputy
    Registrar (Admn.), Registrar of Societies, Manipur, no process has been
    taken up for holding a General Body Meeting of the said Association for
    election of the Executive Council members. The learned counsel
    appearing for the petitioners submitted that the present writ petition may
    be closed by giving liberty to the members of the said Association to
    convene a General Body Meeting and to elect the Executive Council
    members of the said Association strictly in terms of the provisions of the
    Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989 and the Manipur Societies

    Registration Rules, 2004 as well as the provisions of the Regulations of
    the said Association.

    [4] Mrs. Ch. Sundari, learned GA appearing for the respondents
    No. 1 to 3 fairly submitted that she has no objection in disposing of
    this writ petition as prayed for by the learned counsel appearing for
    the petitioners.

    [5] In view of the submission made above and on perusal of
    the record, this court is of the considered view that there is no reason/
    ground for any interference by this court. However, this court is of the
    considered view that it is at the liberty of the members of the Manipur
    Horse Riding and Polo Association to convene a General Body Meeting
    for the purpose of election of the Executive Council members of the
    Association strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Manipur
    Societies Registration Act, 1989
    and Manipur Societies Registration
    Rules, 2004 and the Regulations of the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo
    Association.

    [6] In view of the above, the present writ petition as well as the
