About the Competition

Think India is proud to announce the 1st National Trial Advocacy Competition in collaboration with National Law University, Delhi, which is scheduled to be held at National Law University, Delhi on 11th and 12th May 2026. This event marks a significant milestone in promoting legal excellence and nurturing advocacy skills among budding lawyers across the nation.

The competition aims to provide a platform for law students to showcase their advocacy, research, and analytical skills in a simulated courtroom environment. With participation from various esteemed universities, the event promises to encourage academic interaction, foster healthy competition, and contribute to the holistic development of future legal professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for students to engage with complex legal issues, network with peers and professionals, and gain invaluable practical exposure.

Eligibility

This Competition shall be open to all students actively enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws programme (Five-Year or Three-Year Course).

Mode & Location

The Competition shall be conducted in a physical mode at National Law University, Delhi.

Fee

The registration fee shall be INR 6,000/- (inclusive of GST) per team (comprising not more than four (4) members). The fee shall be inclusive of food but shall not include accommodation for the dates of the Competition, which must be arranged by the teams themselves.

  • 9th April: Registration Open & Problem Statement
  • 9th April: Clarification Form Open
  • 11th April: Clarification Form Close
  • 13th April: Clarification Release
  • 24th April: Registration Close
  • 25th April: Notification to Teams Regarding, Confirmation of Provisional Registration.
  • 26th April: Deadline for Making Payment
  • 1st May: Memo Submission
  • 10th May: Submission of Physical Copies of Memo, And Exchange of Memo
  • 11th May: Prelims Rounds and Results of the Prelims
  • 11th May: Quater Final Rounds & Declaration of Result of Quarter Final Rounds
  • 12th May: Draw of lots of Side for The Semi-Finals & Exchange of Memo, Semi Finals & Results of Semi Finals.
  • 12th May: Final Rounds
  • 12th May: Valedictory, Results & Prizes Distribution.

Awards

The prize money and/or internship opportunities for the following categories shall be announced in due course on the official social media handles of the Competition.

The following awards shall be conferred:

  • Winning Team;
  • Runners-Up Team;
  • Best Student Advocate;
  • Best Memorial;
  • Best Witness.
