The latest episode of WWE RAW kicked off with a backstage fight between Rhea Ripley and Nia Jax. Jey Uso appeared at the arena and vowed to beat Gunther in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, scheduled for January 25. The duo engaged in a brawl, with Jey taking down the champ with a superkick. Bayley was featured in a backstage interview where she confirmed herself for the upcoming Royal Rumble. She later faced Nia Jax in a one-on-one fight.
Rey Mysterio vs Kofi Kingston
Rey Mysterio mostly dominated the fight. He was preparing the 619 when Xavier Woods intervened. Kingston came back with a Boom Drop but Mysterio countered the move and rolled him up to secure an easy victory.
Bayley vs Nia Jax
Bayley took early control, but Nia Jax bounced back with a big dive. Bayley attempted a Sunset Flip powerbomb, which Jax kicked out. She then followed it up with a Samoan Drop and the annihilator to defeat Bayley.
Penta vs Pete Dunne
Pete Dunne started off the fight on a promising note. He grabbed Penta for a headlock but ended up being thrashed by a superkick. Penta launched the Mexican Destroyer before sending Dunne out of the ring. Dunne tried for a triangle lock but failed to capitalise. In the end, Penta sealed the deal with his iconic Penta diver.
Damage CTRL vs Pure Fusion Collective
Dakota Kai and Shayna Baszler traded some strikes before Zoey Stark was tagged in. Baszler returned early and attacked Kai’s injured knee. Stark was then hit with a missile dropkick by IYO Sky. She then dove off the top rope to knock down Stark and won the match for Damage CTRL.
Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre appeared to be in sublime form, but Seth Rollins was in no mood to give up. McIntyre was slammed into the ring post multiple times before coming back with a superplex. Rollins dodged a future-shock DDT before trying a cross-face lock-in. He ultimately pinned McIntyre in a sudden move to win the match.
