Dharavi’s Hip-Hop Hope
What connects the hip hop genre and Dharavi? A transformation story. “Dharavi Dreams” is a 75-minute musical performed by 13 kids, portray the stark realities of their lives in the slums. The play highlights their resilience, the pivotal role of hip-hop in their transformation, and how they are ready to chase new dreams. The production features their mastery of various art forms, including rap, beatboxing, graffiti art, aerial work, skateboarding and more.

Visuals That Speak
An exhibition, “Photography Strictly Prohibited”, showcasing the works of Navroze Contractor, a renowned photographer and cinematographer from Ahmedabad, will be inaugurated on Dec 15. Curated by Sanjiv Shah, Anuj Ambalal and Himanshu Panchal, the exhibition will have photographs — many previously unseen —that Navroze took over 60 years. Contractor’s work, a captivating blend of art and activism, captures the vibrant spirit of the parallel cinema movement in India.
