“Today our sisters are not safe under the TMC government. Women are being tortured here. What happened in Sandeshkhali? The whole country saw it. The entire TMC government was engaged in saving the culprits of our daughters. Today the accused is in the custody of CBI but TMC is still batting for him,” news agency ANI quoted him saying.

“TMC government is trying its best to loot even the central schemes. BJP government gives Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to the poor but here TMC government releases money only to those people, either they are associated with TMC or give ‘cut’ to TMC people. These people are not letting other poor people get the benefit of our schemes,” he added.
The Prime Minister has quite often taken pot shots at the TMC government over corruption and he minced no words this time around too.
In his speech he said that the TMC takes scams as a business.
“TMC has made scams its full-time business. Be it the Left, Congress or any other party of the Indi Alliance, corruption is their common character. Most of the parties in the indie alliance do scams secretly, but TMC runs an open industry of scams,” he said.
Modi also raked up the minority vote bank issue and took on the INDIA alliance of which TMC is part of outside West Bengal.
“To appease their vote bank, they are willing to resort to any means within their control. TMC is staunchly anti-women and anti-SC/ST,” he elaborated.
He also blamed the Congress on playing politics over religion.
“Congress divided the land based on religion, yet they opposed granting citizenship to the Matua community through the CAA,” he said.
“The TMC government is irritated by the development of the SC community, hence it is not allowing you to progress, whereas the BJP government gives priority to the interests of the SC community. When there was a Congress government at the centre, SC used to get a budget of only Rs 40 thousand crore annually for the welfare of the society. Today, the BJP government gives a budget of more than Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand crore for the welfare of the SC community,” Modi added.
