West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee tore into BJP over the biased attitude it enjoys from the judiciary.
A bit on the backfoot but in no mood to cow down under duress, Banerjee while addressing a rally in support of actor-turned-politician Dev who was earlier reluctant to continue in the political zone in Ghatal, the TMC supremo blamed the Judiciary for showing bias towards thd ruling dispensation at the Centre. -West Bengal – CM Mamata Banerjee
On the same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking at a rally at Malda North refrained from using the term Modi ki guarantee. He only stressed on on his party’s assurance elaborating on team work.
But on the same day in Bihar, Modi did speak on his name and his guarantee.
Dev, a popular star in the Bengali film industry was reportedly not keen on sticking to politics preferring his film career.
There were also reports of Dev not happy at the way corruption was being promoted in his constituency – he even resigned from three crucial posts in Ghatal but was later persuaded to hit the campaign trail by the TMC supremo.
In fact one of the most saleable stars in the Bengali film industry Dev was not at all game for joining politics but was forced reportedly by Banerjee to take the political plunge.
Banerjee who us facing flak for the Calcutta High Court decision to scrap the appointments of school teachers continued with her vitriolic attack at the Narendra Modi-led government.
“It is easy for them to get bail but for us we have to languish in the jail. Is this justice?” she asked.
Incidentally, senior Left Front leader and lawyer Bikas Ranjan Bhattacharjee has decided to move the Calcutta High Court against Banerjee for her attack at the judiciary.
Even Banerjee’s nephew and second in command Abhishek Banerjee has been hurling innuendos at the judiciary for the verdicts that allegedly go against their party.
Quite under sharp attack the West Bengal CM has been leaving no stone unturned to take on the Modi government even predicting its days are numbered.
She even used maths to justify her stance but to what extent her perspective would be true, you never know.
Meanwhile, in the second phase of polling in West Bengal, voting percentage at 3 pm has been around 60 per cent from 32 per cent at 11 am.
We can only wait and watch.
