About the Event
The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (CADR) is pleased to announce a webinar on “Role of Lok Adalats in Ensuring Access to Justice in India”, to be delivered by Prof. Aravindan Anandan on 15th February 2026 at 10:00 AM.
This session will explore how Lok Adalats function as an effective alternative dispute resolution mechanism in India, promoting speedy, affordable, and accessible justice while reducing the burden on courts. The webinar will highlight the relevance of ADR in strengthening the justice delivery system and the pivotal role of CADR in fostering awareness and practical understanding of alternative dispute resolution frameworks among law students and legal professionals.
About Speaker
Aravindan Anandan is a faculty member at Vidyashilp University, Bengaluru, with over fourteen years of experience in legal academia and institutional administration. His professional background includes serving in senior leadership capacities within leading academic institutions, notably as Deputy Registrar, where he spearheaded academic governance and institutional management.
Aravindan holds an LL.M. in Human Rights Law from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. His current research from the National Law University, Tripura, focuses on the ethical and legal dimensions of AI-powered healthcare, addressing the complexities of emerging technologies in the digital landscape. His extensive legal background includes serving as a Legal Trainee under the Chief Justice of India at the Supreme Court of India, where he assisted in drafting judgments and conducting high-level legal research.
Aravindan has actively participated in high-level international legal forums, including engaging with specialized agencies of the United Nations and presenting research at global platforms such as the Alma Mater European in Slovenia. His diverse research portfolio and academic interests span constitutional theory, maritime law, and the intersection of technology and human rights, reflecting a career-long commitment to the evolution of law in a globalized world.
Eligibility
Open to all students enrolled in:
- Integrated 5-year LL.B. programmes
- 3-year LL.B. programmes from any recognised law school, university, or institution in India.
