Vikrant Massey recently sparked retirement rumours with a social media post saying he would meet audiences “one last time” in 2025. After starring in four films this year, he clarified that he’s not retiring, but simply taking a long break. Vikrant shared that when he started acting, his focus was solely on the craft, with no expectations of fame or awards. Now, he feels the need for some time off.
In a conversation with RJ Rohini, Vikrant opened up about feeling physically and mentally drained from doing four films a year. He expressed that he felt like he was repeating the same roles and noticed that the standards of good work had lowered. Vikrant admitted that this approach wasn’t healthy for him in the long run. He emphasized his desire to act for as long as possible and keep his creativity alive, which is why he decided it was the right time to take a break.
The actor spoke about his wife, Sheetal Thakur, and their son, Vardaan, who was born this year. He shared how he missed out on spending quality time with them due to his busy work schedule, including not being able to go on a honeymoon or watch his son’s milestones in person. Vikrant realized that while life moves on, he needs to slow down, spend more time with his family, travel, read, and rest to avoid burning out. He concluded by saying he’s not going anywhere for now.
Vikrant Massey is currently filming for Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, which will feature Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, making her Bollywood debut.
