Varun Dhawan recently opened up about whether he would consider taking on a role similar to Ranbir Kapoor’s intense character in Animal. While Varun had previously praised Kapoor’s performance in the film, he admitted to having mixed feelings about roles that might promote “problematic narratives.”
In an interview with GQ India, Varun addressed the question, saying he doesn’t let cinema influence his moral compass. However, he acknowledged that his perspective might have been different in the past. Varun expressed admiration for director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and his distinctive approach to filmmaking, adding that he would like to collaborate with him someday.
“I’m not the guy who lets cinema influence his moral compass. But I don’t know how I would have reacted back then if it had come my way. I’d have given it more thought, maybe. Sandeep thinks differently. He’s a guy I definitely would want to work with,” Varun shared.
