Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu said the Union Budget 2025 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proved the Central government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers.

In a press release, he stated that the Budget was well balanced in meeting the requirements of women, farmers, youth and the middle classes, and due priority has been accorded for development. He said a sum of ₹1,71,437 crore had been earmarked for the agriculture and allied sectors, and the farm credit limit had been increased from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh under the Kisan Credit Card scheme.

The National Mission on High-Yielding Seeds and the Cotton Mission would give a big boost to the agriculture and textile sectors.  The support to fisheries was enhanced and a host of other measures would uplift the farm sector, Mr. Atchannaidu said, claiming that a host of other steps would help in realising the Vision Viksit Bharat.
