Gandhinagar: Speaking at an event to mark the completion of two years of the state govt on Thursday, chief minister Bhupendra Patel said that the govt strengthened its recruitment process, making it transparent and effective.
At an event held at Mahatma Mandir, appointment letters were given to 580 youths recruited to various govt departments. “Gujarat has been achieving new milestones in development, and public expectations have grown, underscoring the importance of timely service delivery and transparent governance. To address these expectations, the state govt created opportunities for youth to join govt services through a completely transparent selection process,” an official statement quoted the CM as saying.
Patel took over as the chief minister in Sep 2021 and was then sworn in as CM again on Dec 12, 2022, after the BJP’s landslide victory in the assembly polls.
Programmes were organised with a focus on ‘Gyan’ — garib (poor), yuva (youth), annadata (farmers), and nari shakti (women). The CM inaugurated a shramik suvidha kendra constructed on a 300 sq m plot by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in Naroda for poor labourers. Later in the day, the CM met representatives of farmer produce organisations (FPOs) at his residence to discuss ways to boost production, value addition, branding and marketing of agri produce. He also interacted with women startup entrepreneurs and innovators at iHub in Ahmedabad.
The CM also unveiled a book on the pro-people work done by his govt as he completed two years in the post in his second term. The book titled “Two Years: Service, Determination and Dedication” was unveiled at a function in Gandhinagar, an official statement said.
