Mumbai: In another fatal crash involving a BEST bus in less than two days, a pedestrian was run over at Walchand Hirachand Marg near CSMT station on Wednesday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Hasinar Andui (54).
A police officer said the accident occurred in front of Shivala restaurant. Andui, a Kerala resident who had arrived in the city for sightseeing, was initially hit by a bike, causing him to fall on the road and then he was crushed under the rear tires of an oncoming bus. A police team took Andui to St George’s Hospital where he was declared brought dead. The driver was taken to MRA Marg police station for inquiry. An FIR was lodged, and the police began the hunt for the biker. The bus left Anushakti Nagar around 3.25pm and was headed for Electric House in Colaba. The accident took place near CSMT at 4.25pm. The bus driver, Dnyandev Jagdale, is a BEST employee, said a spokesperson.tnn
