Surat: A three-day ‘Suvali Beach Festival-2024′ will be held from Dec 20 to Dec 22 at Suvali beach in Surat. After the successful first edition of the festival last year, the second edition will have more attractions and facilities for tourists this year.
Gujarat Tourism and Surat district authorities are jointly organising the festival. Gujarat minister of state for forest and environment, Mukesh Patel, briefed the media on the event.
The beach festival will feature camel and horse riding, craft stalls, food court, photo corner, traditional games, and an entertainment zone for children. Notably, the beach festival will feature a kite flying activity with an awareness theme by the international kite flyer and designer organisation ‘Fly-365′.
For the food-loving people of Surat, 100 food stalls will be set up. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy sports, literature, traditional dance, and the refreshing beach atmosphere.
The festival will be inaugurated on Dec 20 at 4.30pm. On the first day, folk singer Kinjal Dave will entertain visitors with her songs. On Dec 21, Gopal Sadhu will present a folk music performance, and on Dec 22, there will be a live show featuring ghazals and the Terrific Band.
To help visitors reach Suvali beach, the Gujarat transport department and BRTS Cell of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will provide bus services from 25 different routes in Surat to Suvali beach on all the three days.
The minister stated that the state govt had allocated Rs 28 crore for the development of Suvali beach. This includes the provision for various facilities such as a proposed circuit house, roads, water, sanitation, and electricity. Apart from that, Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA) has approved Rs 20 crore for the development of Suvali beach.
The development of Suvali beach will be completed in phases over next three years.
