‘The Sabarmati Report’ box office day 15: Vikrant Massey starrer sees a boost on Cinema Lovers Day, crosses Rs24 crore mark

Directed by Dheeraj Sarna and headlined by Vikrant Massey, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ made it to the theatres on November 15, 2024. Initially, it had done decent business with the opening collection crossing the Rs11 crore mark. It continued to have a steady pace till day 10, i.e. the second Sunday, and post that it witnessed a drop in numbers. However, on Cinema Lovers Day, which marked the second Friday for the film, the Vikrant Messy starrer saw a rise; the movie made Rs.2.15 crore on day 15.
These are the early estimates by the Sacnilk report. Based on the 2002 Godhra incident, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ collected Rs 11.5 crore in its first week of release. The political thriller’s collection for the second week was Rs 10.5 crore. And now a day after making a total collection of Rs 22 crore, the movie minted Rs 2.15 crore net in India on the third Friday, making the total Rs 24.15 crore.
It is with noting that after collecting Rs 3.1 crore on Day 10, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ only saw low figures, until Day 15. It appears that Cinema Lovers Day on November 29 gave the movie the much-needed boost.
Another factor contributing to the collection is that the movie has been running in cinemas tax-free in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha.
As far as the movie’s review goes, it has been getting a lot of love for its gripping narrative and stellar performances. Vikrant Massey has once again proved his mettle with this latest release.
“I always try to work responsibly. We try to make responsible cinema along with entertainment. All kinds of films should be made. Even today cinema is a very effective medium. It would be good if we try to tell stories by becoming a mirror of society…,” said Vikrant at the closing ceremony of the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
