Thane: A centuries-old religious place in Pokhran gone missing from the records and a proposed wide road that cuts through an existing densely populated enclave of Kalwa, affecting their future redevelopment plans (DP), are some of the concerns raised by residents in response to the recently published draft development plan, officials informed based on initial scrutiny.
The Thane Municipal Corporation published the draft DP for the city in Oct with a Dec 10 deadline for citizens to submit their objections and suggestions. As many as 5,000 responses were received at the Thane collector office.
Meanwhile, officials associated with the draft DP work allayed the residents’ fears. “This is just a draft plan and is subject to modifications and revisions after discussions with relevant sections of the residents,” said an official.
