About the Project
The Victim Advocacy Project (VAP) is a justice-focused initiative aimed at strengthening victims’ access to the criminal justice system through structured legal representation and advocacy. The project addresses long-standing gaps in legal assistance and victim participation by providing continuous, professional support from FIR to trial, appeal, and rehabilitation.
Over the next three years, VAP aims to support more than 450 victims of crime, build a trained cadre of Litigation Fellows and Paralegals, and generate evidence-based insights to inform legal reform. By integrating field practice with research, the project seeks to develop a scalable model of victim advocacy for replication across India.
