The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI), a Navratna PSU is the largest Indian Shipping Company. As the country’s premier Shipping line , SCI owns and operates around one-third of the Indian tonnage, and has operating interests in practically all areas of the Shipping business; servicing both national and international trades. In addition, SCI mans and manages a large no. of vessels on behalf of various Government Departments and Organizations.
About the Internship
The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd invites applications for Summer Internship Programme (SIP) for its Head Office in Mumbai and Branch Office in Kolkata, from interested candidates who are undergoing/ pursuing:
- MBA/ Post Graduate course in Management (preferably in Human Resources / Marketing / Finance / Logistics / International Business / Operations/ Supply Chain Management / Port & Shipping Management / Environmental, Social, and Governance / Business Analytics / General Management).
- Graduate degree/ Post Graduate degree in Law.
- Graduate degree/Post Graduate degree in relevant branches of Engineering (preferably in Marine / Mechanical/ Information Technology / Civil).
Other Requirements
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate should be pursuing Graduate / Post Graduate degree from a recognized University / College / Educational Institution in India.This SIP is only for candidates for whom SIP is mandatory part of the educational degree being pursued. Letter should be submitted from University / College / Educational Institution where the candidate is pursuing the degree stating the mandatory requirement of the SIP as part of the educational degree.The candidate should possess minimum 60% in the semester / year completed prior to the SIP.
- In case of assessment / marksheet in Grade Point basis/ Letter Grading system, a letter from the University/College/Institute for Grade Point/ Letter Grade with its conversion to Percentage should be submitted along with the Application Form.
Terms of Engagement
The SIP will be for a period of two (02) months during May 2026 to July 2026. The exact dates of SIP will commence as per the SIP schedule of the Intern’s respective Institution, subject to the aforementioned duration only.
Stipend
No stipend or conveyance will be paid for the entire period of SIP.
Medical Benefits
The Intern shall not be eligible for Company’s medical benefits.
Accommodation
No accommodation shall be provided to candidates appearing for Interview / selected for the Internship.
Transportation
No reimbursement of transportation/ shall be made to candidates appearing for Interview /selected for the Internship.
If selected, the intern should mandatorily carry his/her own laptop for the period of internship.

Selection Process
- Selection process will be through Personal Interview which shall be conducted in physical /online mode.
- The date of Interview will be intimated in due course. It is requested to keep checking the SCI website for updates on Interview dates and selection.
- The entire internship programme will be carried out at the respective location for which the internship application has been received i.e. for Mumbai, the internship will be at Shipping House, Mumbai and for Kolkata, the internship will be at Shipping House, Kolkata. Selected candidates will be posted at the respective offices of SCI i.e. Shipping House, Mumbai/ Shipping House, Kolkata. It might be noted that Maritime Training Institute (MTI), Powai falls under the purview of Shipping Corporation of India Land and Assets Management (SCILAL). SCI reserves the right to post some of the selected candidates for SIP at Mumbai, to the Maritime Training Institute (MTI) at Powai (SCILAL).
- Candidates will be required to produce/submit the following at the time of Personal Interview:
- Academic mark sheets for the relevant semester/ year.
- Bonafide Certificate from University / College / Educational Institution where the candidate is pursuing the degree.
- Letter stating the mandatory requirement of the SIP as part of the educational degree from University / College / Educational Institution where the candidate is pursuing the degree.
- The list of candidates selected for the SIP will be uploaded (displayed) on SCI website. Selection for SIP will also be informed on the email id provided in the application form submitted by the candidate(s).
- Selected candidate will undergo Internship for a period of two (2) months during May 2026 to July 2026. If selected, the intern should mandatorily carry his/her own laptop for the period of internship.
