Ms. P.S. Nongbri, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted
that this application has been filed under Section 483 BNSS, 2023 read with
Section 31 POCSO Act, 2012 with a prayer for grant of bail on behalf of the
accused person namely, Shri. Ignatius Nongbri, who was arrested on
17.12.2025 in connection with Nongstoin P.S. Case No. 74 (11) 2025 under
Section 5(j)(ii)(l)/6 POCSO Act.
It is however submitted that the genesis of the case arose from a
complaint made by the District Medical and Health Officer, West Khasi Hills
District, Nongstoin, whereupon, an FIR was filed, and a case was registered
under the relevant provisions of the POCSO Act.
