Sivakasi lights our skies every year. This rain shadow region with its vast tracts of dusty land is fighting invasive vegetation, steady desertification in mild quantum. The farmer in this region despite the willingness and want does not have water to pursue crop cultivation. The Anaikootam Kudumbankulam as an intermediary water body due to years of neglect was unable to hold precious rainwater that occasionally came. The Virudhunagar District administration, KMBL and E.F.I through a collaborative effort took on the task of enhancing storage in this lake to enable improved groundwater recharge and surface storage.
